Hey folks!! Welcome to a new regular playlist series I’m trying out! New Music Mondays. This’ll be a space for me to talk about all the new music that comes across my Spotify account, typically on a weekly basis. I won’t necessarily go track-by-track, but I will pick out my favourites and give them a review.

This week, we’re thankfully starting off pretty strong. There’s some REALLY impressive stuff here.

Cannons - Starlight EP

We’ll kick off the reviews this week with a slick, dreamy new EP from LA-based synth pop trio, Cannons called “Starlight”. Both tracks on here are great, but the title track I feel is the stronger of the two. I’m an absolute sucker for Michelle Joy’s breathy vocals, and those big, gated reverb drums…pure synthwave candy. The EP comes ahead of the release of their new album, “Everything Glows”, which is out on March 27th.

RamonPang - Matrix Bloom

LA-based, Filipino-American IDM/experimental DJ, RamonPang. (Photo by artist.)

Once in a while, I come across artists who SINCERELY impress me with something. RamonPang is one such artist. I thought the sorts of sounds he’s peddling to be long dead, but no. Here’s a guy in 2026 who is trying to evoke the same kind of vibes as the ones on my Crystalline Future playlist. Dreamy, glistening, atmospheric post-IDM that’s still super groovy, danceable, and makes me nostalgic for the warehouse parties of the mid-90s. Super solid stuff, I’ve been a fan since I came across his TikTok by sheer chance last year.

The Horrors - The Silence that Remains

UK-based post-punk revivalists, The Horrors. (Photo courtesy of The Horrors’ website.)

UK-based post-punkers, The Horrors, have a new single out: “The Silence That Remains”. It’s brooding, it’s dark, it’s atmospheric, it’s everything you want this current crop of goth-y post-punk darkwave to be. AND, there’s a super-menacing, noisy as all fuck, instrumental industrial techno rework on the flipside from Gilla Band guitarist, Alan Duggan Borges’ new side project, The Null Club.

Fatboy Slim & High Contrast - Satisfaction Skank

Big Beat Godfather, Fatboy Slim (left) / Drum ‘n’ Bass DJ High Contrast (right).

Yup. It does what it says on the tin. It’s exactly what you expect. A very silly mashup of Fatboy Slim’s classic, “Rockefeller Skank”, with the iconic guitar riff from The Rolling Stones’ “Satisfaction”. Except, EXCEPT…make it JUNGLE. High Contrast rinses this whimsical latter-day big beat track out into an old school Jump-Up D’n’B track that is way more fun than it has any right to be.

Wrap Up

There’s lots more on this week’s playlist to love, but above are my standouts. Honourable mentions go to Bush’s new EP “I Am Here To Save Your Life”, Sevendust’s new single, “Is This The Real You”, and Threat Signal’s new single “Non-Essential”.

Hope you all enjoy this new format. The full playlist is below. I’ll try to keep these coming as frequently as I can. Until then, see you all Friday for the Week in Review!
